Have You Eaten?: My Favourite Recipes from Lamb Roast to Laksa
Food has always played a key role to Malaysian-born Billy as well as in his home country where it's not uncommon to greet each other by asking Have you eaten yet?o instead of how are you?o. When Billy migrated to Australia in 1996 he also took his inquisitive palate to a whole new culinary world. That's when he started cooking not just cuisines from his home soil but also started experimenting with the new flavours of his adopted homeland and the world. The juxtaposition of two different cultures has allowed Billy to submerge himself in an endless combination of Eastern and Western cuisines. This cookbook showcases Billy's passion in cooking through his favourite collected recipes from both worlds from traditional Malaysian-Chinese Nyonya recipes such as Chinese roast pork belly to contemporary Western-style dishes such as Braised beef cheeks in Pedro Ximinez.
A stunningly photographed package with a unique design; The recipes are a mix of the best Eastern and Western classics and contemporary fare; Addresses the segment of the market in a fresh, youthful way.
With Billy's Chinese-Malaysian background and the influence of western culture, he counts himself lucky to have been exposed to some of the most spectacular cuisines from both worlds. Billy is author of top food blog, A Table For Two (www.atablefortwo.com.au). It features some of the best eats from Sydney, Australia and around the world, complemented by his luscious food photography. His passion for cooking led him to Australia's most popular cooking show, Masterchef 2011 where he made the top 10. Since leaving the competition, Billy is busy building a recipe library, while his online fan base continues to grow.
